Bouzov, Vihren, Dr. habil., is a professor of Legal Philosophy and Logic of Social Sciences and Doctor of Sciences in National Security at St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria. For eight years he has served as Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and presently a Vice-Rector for Quality Assurance and Accreditation. He is a Chair of the Centre for Cross-Border Studies at the university and coordinator of many international and national scientific projects. He teaches courses on the crises of regional security and political decision-making for students of national security and political science. In July 2016 he defended successfully a Habilitation thesis Regional Security Crises Decision-Making. The main objective of the thesis is to develop a theoretical model of these crises that could be applied for explanation and prediction of development of certain significant conflicts. From 2009 he is the lead organizer of nine international conferences on international and regional security. He is the author of Rationality, Decisions and Norms in the Globalization Era (Essays in Practical Logic) (V. Tarnovo, 2011) and co-author of the book A Treatise of Legal Philosophy and General Jurisprudence. V.12 (1), Legal Philosophy in the Twentieth Century: The Civil Law World, Pattaro, E., C. Roversi (eds.) (Springer, 2016). His essay Rationality, Decision and Choice has been published in the Boston Studies in the Philosophy of Science (Volume 236, 2003) and he has many publications in the fields of security studies, legal philosophy, political decision theory and philosophy of politics in Austria, Poland, Romania, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Russia, Moldova and Serbia. Prof. Bouzov is a member of the International Society of Universal Dialogue and the Association of Foundation of Science.
